Geoffrey Shen

Geoffrey has a proven track record of academic and research leadership in construction management with special interest in value management and collaborative working in construction, supported by information and communication technologies. He has led a large number of research projects with total funding over HK$25 million including five Research Grants Council-Competitive Earmarked Research Grants in a row since 2002/03, and has authored more than 300 publications including 160+ refereed papers in academic and professional journals. He has also been invited to give keynote presentations in a number of international conferences, has chaired and/or served the scientific committee of a number of major international events.

Professionally Geoffrey is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), and the Hong Kong Institute of Value Management (HKIVM). He was the President of HKIVM from 2007 to 2011. As a certified Value Management Facilitator (VMF) recognised by the Hong Kong SAR Government and a Certified Value Specialist (CVS) certified by SAVE International, he has professionally designed and facilitated more than 40 value management and partnering workshops for a number of large client organisations in both the public and private sectors. He was awarded the “Presidential Citation Award” by the SAVE International in 2009 in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the value methodology.
